January 29 - received an update from Mike Barrow (Sparrow)
At the time of these photos, the engine had run about 4 hours. One more hour of run time before taking it to take off / cruise run. So far, all looks goods. Nothing in the filters and no leaks. All on schedule for Reno 2010. [Click images to enlarge]

January 23
The road back from Reno 2006 is almost complete. Below, Mike Barrow of Sparrow Engines test runs the re-built motor. The motor was combined parts salvaged from the blown motor and a -7 core purchased last year.
The motor has been put back together in stock condition. It will get 5 hours of run time on this truck mount before being installed on Merlin's Magic.
